Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that is hosted by The Purple Booker, .  It was first brought to me attention by Dee’s Rad Reads and Reviews It is very easy to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page (I always do a paragraph (Stacy)
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

What Stacy is currently reading:

“The Colonel And The Bee” by Patrick Canning

pg. 107

“Though dastardly and uncouth, the governor is no fool. He knew something of Ebbing’s final riddle, knew of our interest, and judged us worthy to follow. The men below our feet were sent to learn what we know and to abscond with anything of value. When the riddle had been revealed and we were all plied with strong drink, they set about the plot. If San Miguel secures Ebbing’s ultimate prize, which is sure to be fantastic, and presents it to his constituency with what will surely be tremendous theatricality, I should think he’ll have bought a lifetime of compliance.”

My Thoughts:

I am loving this book! The wordscapes Mr. Canning creates are absolutely delicious, and new adventure and unexpected surprises at every turn.

“Happily” by Chauncey Rogers

page 7 (Kindle)

“As I entered the market, I noticed that it was a busier morning than usual. I glanced around and quickly realized why: the walls of the palace were being hung with decorations, and a crew of servants rushed about sprucing the place up. Apparently the royal family was throwing another party to celebrate how absurdly wealthy they were. It’s the kind of thing they seemed to do. I lowered my gaze and kept going.”

My thoughts:

So far, I am liking this enchanting retelling of the Cinderella fairy tale– I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
